・ As a result of a significant decrease in water-related diseases, the school life and learning outcomes of children have also improved.
・ The community as a whole is taking voluntary initiatives to make the facilities sustainable, such as establishing a system for contributing money to cleaning activities, repairs, and maintenance of the installed facilities.
Outline of the follow-up observations
The JWF’s main priority in funding projects is responding to onsite issues and needs related to water in an efficient and effective way.
Since 2015, we have been carrying out follow-up observations after completion of projects in order to understand changing issues and needs.
In FY2024, the JWF received favorable responses to its requests for follow-up observations from three grass-roots organizations, in Tanzania, Cameroon and Pakistan, all of which were JWF Fund 2022 recipients. Thanks to their cooperation, we were able to conduct our follow-up observations successfully.
